  • Peter Phillips was born 21 May 1939 in Birmingham, England. As a main artist of the british pop art, Phillips studied at the Royal College of Art together with other artist that will become worldwide popular as David Hockney, Allen Jones, R.B. Kitaj and others from the British Pop Art movement. He later moved to New York, where he held different exhibitions with the american pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. He was particularly close to the american culture and its iconography and advertising styl. In 1963 he was at the Paris Biennale and in 1964 his works were shown in the Pop Art exhibition at the Hague, Vienna and Berlin.
