  • <strong>Lucio Del Pezzo</strong> (Naples, 1933 – Milan, 2020) is recognised as one of the <strong>most significant Italian artists of the twentieth century</strong>, whose work strikes a fascinating balance between the irony of Neodadaism, the enigma of New Metaphysics, and the attention to mass culture characteristic of Pop Art. His artistic career, which began in the vibrant cultural climate of Naples, developed through a path of constant experimentation, leaving an indelible mark on painting, sculpture, and design. His artistic education was built on solid foundations: after studying land surveying, Del Pezzo attended the Free School of Drawing and Art History and Archaeology under Mario Napoli, and in <strong>1954</strong> he won a scholarship for archaeological research in Greece, an experience that would deeply influence his aesthetic vision, permeating it with <strong>archetypes</strong> and essential forms.
