  • Giuseppe Santomaso was born in Venice in 1907. He is a self taught painter raised watching the artworks in the Bevilacqua LA Masa Foundation in Venice. The first step in the career of the artist in is 1937 when travelling to Paris and Amsterdam far way from the way of painting of Italy. During the fourties he will take part in the art movement Nuova Secessione Artistica Italiana and in Fronte Nuovo delle Arti with other artists as Cassinari, Guttuso, Vedova, Leoncillo and others. The passage from abstract to informal is the next step for Santomaso and the first informal artworks are from 1956.
