Arnaldo Pomodoro was born in Morciano di Romagna in Italy in 1926 and he is considered among the most important modern and contemporary sculptors. His artworks are usually made in bronze, often spheres or blocks, the bronze is his favourite material. His artworks open and reveal inside complex internal mechanisms while outside the surface is shiny and clean.

Between 1961 and 1962 he participated with Lucio Fontana to the art movement called “Continuità” that will permit him to work on his particular style and especially on the big artworks, often site specific. Arnaldo Pomodoro prefer to work on big dimension works thanks to the bigger surface he can work on, making more easy to create bigger and more complex structures. Particularly appreciated is also him print and multiples production, especially using calcography techniques on paper and bronze plates.
