- Afro Basaldella, known universally simply as Afro, was one of the most influential interpreters of Italian abstraction in the second half of the 20th century. His artistic journey represents a sophisticated bridge between the Venetian colorist tradition and the energy of American Abstract Expressionism, consolidating a stylistic signature defined by light, memory, and formal harmony.
