- Valerio Adami was born in 1935 and was a student of Achille Funi Funi at the Brera Academy in Milan. After having absorbed the influence of surrealist artists such as Matta and absolutely singular artists such as Bacon, he felt the need to develop a new figurative language. Through ironic use and incisive criticism, he reconstructed objective data on the canvas in a logical and rigorous way, accentuating everything with flat and well-contoured color layers, which gave meaning and multiple interpretations to the shattered and disordered details.
