Valerio Adami was born in 1935 and was a student of Achille Funi Funi at the Brera Academy in Milan. After having absorbed the influence of surrealist artists such as Matta and absolutely singular artists such as Bacon, he felt the need to develop a new figurative language. Through ironic use and incisive criticism, he reconstructed objective data on the canvas in a logical and rigorous way, accentuating everything with flat and well-contoured color layers, which gave meaning and multiple interpretations to the shattered and disordered details. Adami distinguished himself as a multifaceted figure, dedicating himself to the observation of various cultural contexts during his numerous travels to Latin America, India and Israel.

His career took place between London and Paris, where he had the opportunity to come into contact with the main elements of European culture. It was precisely in Paris that he consolidated his great international success.
