- Born in Duga Resa in 1936, he completed his studies in graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1961, under the guidance of Professor Marijan Detoni. He collaborated with the art workshop led by master Krsto Hegedušić and furthered his education by spending time in Paris. From 1978 until his death in 2005, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and was appointed full professor at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) in 1997. His first works date back to 1968 and include mobile objects, drawings, and graphics, which were exhibited that same year. He represented Yugoslavia at the Venice Biennale.
