- Giulia Napoleone, born in Pescara in 1936, began her artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the Sala Studio of the National Engraving Museum. Her professional teaching career began in 1966 at the Istituto Statale d’Arte in Anagni, later continuing in Rome. She also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila (1972-1973), at the National Engraving Museum (1973-1976), and finally at the Art School in Rome in 1976. She began her artistic practice as an engraver in 1962; the following year, she held her first solo exhibition at the Galleria Numero in Florence.
