- Ferdinando Scianna (Bagheria, 1943) is not only one of the most authoritative figures in international contemporary photography but a “visual intellectual” capable of merging photojournalism, high fashion, literature, and anthropology into a unique visual language. In 1982, he became the first Italian photographer to be admitted to the prestigious Magnum Photos agency, invited directly by Henri Cartier-Bresson.
