- Achille Perilli (Rome, January 28, 1927 – Orvieto, October 16, 2021) represents one of the most authoritative and revolutionary figures in the Italian and international art scene of the post-war period. His tireless research, aimed at overcoming figuration and exploring the power of the “sign,” has left an indelible mark on the evolution of geometric abstraction. Raised in a fervent cultural climate, Perilli attended classical high school and enrolled in the Faculty of Letters, where he attended lectures by Lionello Venturi, a key figure in his critical development.
