Getulio Alviani was born in Udine on the 5th september 1939, he was visual artist, graphic designer, architect, collectioner and much more. At the end of the 50’s he realized the first “linee luce”, metal surfaces that later will be organized in panels and will become the famous “superfici a testura vibratile” that will be the focus of his research for years.

In 1963 he is included in the collective exhibition in Berlin “ZERO – der neue Idealismus”. In 1965 he is featured in the historical exhibition in MoMA in New York “The responsive eye” together with the other great artists of the optical and cinetic art as Jesus Raphael Soto and Victor Vasarely . In 64’, 86’ and 93’ he partecipates at the Venice Biennale and in 2000 again at MoMA in New York in the exhibition “Open ends”. The museum will acquire one of his works.

Alviani’s works are in the most important museum’s collections like MoMA, Daimler Contemporary in Berlin, Kunstmuseum in Basel, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and many more. He passed away on the 24th February 2018 in Milano.
